Sheep Farming in Europe: The (Many) Benefits!
What is sheep farming I hear you ask? Well, sheep farming, simply put, is composed of the collective breeding of ewes, rams and of course, lambs.
In Europe, this breeding is distinguished based on the territory used by the sheep: wet meadows, plains, highland or mountainous landscapes.
However, across Europe, there are various sheep breeds that have adapted to the geographical and climatic conditions of each of the territories mentioned above. This is why you will not find different sheep between the Irish meadows and the German highlands!
One thing is certain: sheep farming is important everywhere in Europe. If we could only pick 3 benefits of sheep farming, these would be: biodiversity, landscape maintenance and economic activity.
